Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the ArtikelStreak iOS app ("the app", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and what choices you have. The app is published by Ozan Caglargil ("ooidist"). We have written this policy to be plain-language; if anything is unclear, contact us at the address at the bottom.

Summary

We do not ask for, collect, or store your name, email, phone number, or any other personally identifying information.
We use an anonymous device identifier (Apple's identifierForVendor) to attribute analytics events to a single install. This identifier resets if you uninstall and reinstall.
We use PostHog for product analytics (which screens you visit, which features you use) and RevenueCat for subscription purchase analytics. Both run in anonymous mode.
Your daily challenge results, streak, and per-word mastery are stored on your device. If iCloud is enabled, they are synced privately via Apple's CloudKit so your stats follow you across your own devices.
We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not track you across other apps or websites.

Third-party processors

We use the following processors. They each have their own privacy policies:

What we do NOT collect

Your real name, email, phone number, address, or photos.
Your contacts, calendar, location, microphone, or camera. The app does not request these permissions.
Any data about other apps you use or websites you visit.
Advertising identifiers (IDFA). We do not run ads.

Data retention

Anonymous analytics events in PostHog are retained for up to 12 months after the event was recorded, then aggregated or deleted. Subscription event records in RevenueCat are retained for the lifetime of your subscription plus the maximum statutory record-keeping period (typically up to 7 years for tax/audit purposes). On-device data persists until you delete the app or sign out of iCloud.

Your rights

Even though we do not hold personally identifying information, you can:

Reset your anonymous identifier by deleting and reinstalling the app. New analytics events will be attributed to a fresh ID, disconnected from prior history.
Cancel your subscription anytime from Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device. We do not control billing — Apple does.
Request data review or deletion by emailing us (see contact below). Because all our records are anonymous device IDs, we will need you to provide that ID to locate your records — you can find it in iOS Settings, or contact us and we will explain how.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. As with any iOS app, parental restrictions apply via Apple Family Sharing and Screen Time.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how we handle data, we will update this page and bump the date at the top. Continued use of the app after the update means acceptance of the revised terms.
