Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the As Old As app ("the app", "we", "us") does with data. The app is published by Ozan Caglargil ("ooidist"). If anything here is unclear, write to the address at the bottom.

Summary

There is no account. We never ask for your email address or phone number.
The names and birth dates you enter stay on your phone. The app and its widget use them to count days and pick cards. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.
The app downloads card files from our server. Each file covers a block of 100 days of age, and every install asks for blocks a random number of days ahead, so the downloads don't reveal your birth date or your exact age.
The app has no analytics, advertising or tracking code. It does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA).
We do not sell data and we do not use it for advertising.

What leaves your phone, and why

Purchases	When you buy or restore Pro	Handled by Apple. We never see your payment details. The app asks Apple whether Pro is active on your Apple Account.	Apple keeps purchase records under its own policy.

Like any website, our server sees your IP address while it answers a request. We don't store it. Cloudflare, which runs the server, processes it to deliver the request and protect against abuse.

What stays on your phone

Names and birth dates of the profiles you add.
Your settings: notification time, which kinds of cards you want, whether deaths are shown.
Downloaded cards, and which cards you've seen recently, so the app doesn't repeat them.
Daily notifications. The phone schedules them itself; we don't run a push server.
Share images. The app makes them on the phone, and they go only where you choose to share them.

The widget reads this data from a folder it shares with the app on your phone. Deleting a profile removes it. Deleting the app removes everything.

Each card links to its public source, such as Wikipedia, Wikidata, TVmaze or TheTVDB. If you open one of those links, that site's own privacy policy applies.

Children

The app has no accounts and collects no personal information from anyone, children included.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change ships.
